Humanitarian Visit to Kyiv

During our recent visit to Kyiv, our team personally witnessed the extremely difficult conditions many residents are facing today.

We distributed food aid parcels to vulnerable people, and the situation we saw with our own eyes was truly heartbreaking. The city is filled with generators, and electricity is available only two to three hours per day at best. Many people travel up to five hours just to reach a place where they can receive a warm meal — two to two and a half hours each way.

While we were in the city, an air-raid alert sounded. The metro between the left and right banks was operating only as a shelter and not as transport. Because of this, people arrived around forty minutes late for lunch. For some, this meal was the only hot food they had that day.

In many homes, the temperature is close to zero degrees. People often have no possibility to cook or even reheat food. Some have been sleeping in their outdoor clothes for weeks — in jackets, hats, and even ski trousers. Warm clothing and sleeping bags are extremely difficult to find, as second-hand and low-cost shops have been almost completely emptied.

Despite these hardships, the gratitude of the people who received food parcels was overwhelming. Some cried with relief and joy, knowing they would have food for the next few days. These moments reminded us how vital every act of support truly is.

This winter has been one of the coldest and snowiest in recent years, making living conditions even more severe for the most vulnerable.

We sincerely thank everyone who continues to support this mission. Every contribution makes a real and visible difference in people’s lives.

New Year’s Assistance for Those in Need

Thanks to the support of our sponsors, we were able to purchase and distribute food packages to those in need, especially to pensioners and bedridden people. During these difficult times, with rising prices and many people facing hardships due to the war and other challenges, we continue to help those who need our support the most.

These packages have provided crucial assistance to many, and we are grateful to everyone who has contributed to this charitable cause. We pray that God continues to bless each one of you in the new year, and together, we can continue to help those in need.

Feeding refugees

The largest refugee crisis in the world in the 21st century was caused by the invasion of Russian troops into Ukraine on February 24, 2022. More than 13.1 million people were forced to flee Ukraine to other countries. Another 8 million people became internally displaced persons. Millions of people were left without a roof over their heads, jobs, and means of living. Therefore, the number of those in need has increased significantly. According to the press service of the regional military administration, there are 73,800 internally displaced people in the Zhytomyr region. Our city also actively accepts refugees from the east of Ukraine and does everything possible to help them. As of today, 120 refugees receive free lunches at our soupkitchens. Some people come for lunches themselves, and for those who do not have such an opportunity, our volunteers deliver lunches to their place of residence.

The difficult times of the war

During the difficult times of the war, our wards need special attention. Therefore, we feed people in soupkitchens, where it is possible, and where there is no such opportunity, charity meals are for take out. Of course, for people, who are unable to leave their house, because of physical disabilities, lunches are delivered to the house.

For those cities where soup kitchens do not work at all, we form food kits, which include the most necessary products so that people can cook at home. Hundreds of thanks to our sponsors from people who receive food aid!
